UD, RTU situated in the coaching capital of the country, receives its major technical influence from the presence of four major power plants situated at its periphery namely Kota Super Thermal Power Station, Jawahar Sagar Dam Hydroelectric Power Plant, Anta Natural Gas Thermal Power Station and Rajasthan Atomic Power Plant. The nearby power plants not only provide technical influence, training and visiting programs at these institutions but also enriche the students’ practical learning.
Since its inception the institute has not only actively indulged but also has set a number of benchmarks in the field of research. The campus also acts as a nodal centre for the university’s various projects directed by AICTE, UGC.
The college offers a plethora of courses in engineering & management. It is the only one to offer a course in Aeronautical engineering. The curriculum is regularly revised as per technological advancements. The labs are also well fortified with latest equipment.

Alongside this, the institute is also associated with various trainings centers to promote students’ practical and software-based learnings. One of its associate is CADD centre which trains students in various Computer Allied Design Software.
