The Department of Civil Engineering of Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. Was established in the year 1981 with the inception of the then Engineering College Kota, in 1981, initially with the intake of 60 students in UG program. The department being most sought-after by the students, the intake was increased to 120 in the year 2012-13.We added feather in our cap by initiating Postgraduate Program in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering and Environmental Engineering with the intake of 18 students in each specialization along with the Ph.D. programs in these areas.The department is proud to be State Resource Institute for disaster mitigation (under NDMA) and State Technical Agency (under NRIDA) and actively involved in providing consultancy to various Government Departments and Private Organizations.
The department with its excellent infrastructure (including state-of-the-art seminar hall, sponsored by one of the Alumni), well equipped laboratories and fine blend of experienced and young dynamic faculty provides students good understanding of civil engineering solutions in a global, societal and environmental context, consistent with the principles of sustainable development. The department is intending to make the students capable of identifying, formulating and solving civil engineering problems that meet the need of specified performance, cost, time, safety and other quality with professional and ethical responsibility.
Our worthy Alumni are mostly well settled in good positions in the industries and Govt. jobs including successful entrepreneur in the field of civil engineering.
