SAE-Society of Automotive Engineers

SAE RTU is a group of students enthusiastic about design, manufacture and operation of motorcycles, automobiles and trucks and their respective engineering sub-systems. The club is run by the students under the guidance of the teachers. The students of this club made an eco-cart and participated in SAE eco-cart series at BML Munjal University and secured 5th rank.

Club Name: SRC (SAE RTU Chapter)

Objective of the club:

SRC is a Team of students enthusiast about design, manufacture and operation of automobiles, and different types of machines. Tech is a world of fun, excitement, and learning. Here you make your own machines, build your own mega-structures, do your own crazy stuffs.

SRC is for everybody. No matter which department you are in, you will find something here that will interest you. All that you need is passion and a willingness to learn at all times.

Club Activities
  • RC Nitro CarRadio controlled cars are battery or gas-powered model cars or trucks that can be controlled from a distance using a specialized transmitter or remote. The term “R/C” has been used to mean both “remote controlled” and “radio controlled”, where “remote controlled” includes vehicles that are connected to their controller by a wire, but common use of “R/C” today usually refers to vehicles controlled by a radio-frequency link.
  • Eco-KartEco-karts are low maintenance, requiring only that the batteries of the cars be plugged into an array of chargers after each run. Since they are pollution-free and emit no smoke, the race tracks can be indoors in controlled environments. Most fully charged electric karts can run a maximum of 20 minutes before performance is affected. An expensive alternative is the use of LiPO4 lithium batteries. They last much longer and carry more power per pound than lead acid batteries. Eco-Karts do not have hot engines or a tank full of gas which can prove to be safer in an accident.
