1. Identification of clastic and carbonate sedimentary rocks.

2. Study of thin section of Sedimentary rocks through Microscope

3. Petrographic study of carbonaceous sedimentary rock

4. Calculation of oil reserves in defined structures.

5. Structure contour map, description of structure, profile construction, marking oil/water contact,

proposal for new well.

6. Finding oil-water contact from borehole data

7. Preparation of isopach maps of reservoir facies.

8. Interpretation of geological map, reconstruction of stratigraphic succession.

9. Study of Rock-Eval logs to identify source rock sequences

10. Study of geochemical parameters of oil and gas to correlate petroleum pools

11. Study of surface microseep anomaly maps to prioritize prospects

12. Quantification of hydrocarbon generation

Rock-Eval logs and data are given to students during laboratory works to interpretate source of organic matters, deposional Emvironments, hydrocarbon generation potential and thermal maturity of organic matters.
